Clothes Swap

Join us for Cobh Zero Waste’s first Clothes Swap on International Buy Nothing Day.

Bring along your pre-loved clothes and accessories and swap them for new-to-you items. No money involved. You never know, you might just find the perfect dress for Christmas or a cosy jumper for the cold winter days.

Here is how it works:

Bring up to 10 clothing items/accessories. We will hang and sort the items and you can take from the items others have brought.
All items should be clean and in wearable condition (no holes, tears, etc.)
Any remaining clothing will be donated to charities so you will not need to worry about taking it back should anything not find a new home

We are looking forward to seeing you on the night at Coliemore The Artists House.

Day of action against single-use plastic packaging in supermarkets

Cobh Zero Waste will be supporting the day of action by Friends of the Earth and VOICE against single-use packaging on 21 April. Click here for more details on the campaign.

We are meeting outside Aldi at 12 noon on Saturday 21 April, followed by Lidl (1215-1230) and Supervalu (1230-1), to do a “shop and drop” leaving any unwanted plastic packaging at the supermarkets.

So bring some bags and alternative containers for your shopping and then take off and leave your unwanted plastic packaging in the trolleys marked with the “Sick of Plastic” poster at the back of the shop and/or outside the shop.

We hope this will encourage supermarkets to stop using single-use plastic packaging, which is polluting our oceans and our food.
